Bolognese School from Carracci circle. Italy first half 17th C. Pietà. Oil on panel, cradled. Unsigned. Verso an old handwritten label with the work's data. Minor paint loss, white shrinking cracks, retouching, tear.
H 39,5, W 29,8 cm (oval, image). Elaborate frame.
The composition and the facial features of Madonna show connections to the artistic work of Annibale Carracci. This suggests that the Pietà was created in Emilian Carracci circle.

Pietà. Öl auf Holz, parkettiert. Unsign. Verso ein altes handschriftliches Etikett mit den Angaben zum Werk. Min. Farbfehlstellen, Frühschwundrisse, Retuschen, Riss.
H. 39,5, B. 29,8 cm (oval, Darstellungsgröße). Prunkrahmen.
Die Bildkomposition und auch die Gesichtszüge der Madonna weisen Bezüge zu dem künstlerischen Werk Annibale Carraccis auf. Dies legt nahe, dass die Pietà im emilianischen Carracci-Umkreis entstand.
